Grace - fresh vital worship since 1993

August 2010: Greenbelt - Be Do

Building on February's be-attitudes vs do-attitudes Grace took on the challenge of the big top for the first time in quite a long while... 500 pairs of coloured glasses, ten slide projectors with home-made projection screens, ten slides that look different depending which colour of glasses you are wearing, seven loaves of dyed bread.

Red and blue bread, be do prayers/liturgy, and purple were all new parts.

The hanging cards of February's service became projections.

At Greenbelt the service finished with a eucharist. There was a red loaf and a blue loaf, and a plaited loaf to reunite opposing viewpoints. In spite of appearances the loaves simply tasted like normal bread. Photo © Dean Ayres.

The congregation eat the red and blue loaves. In theory you should not be able to see the loaf that is the same colour as your glasses. The other loaf will look black.
