January 2010: Rest

The order of service is missing, but here is a request from before the service:

We're going to have a large installation of camping and sporting equipment at the service on Saturday! (If you don't understand why that might be, it will make sense on the day).
Therefore we need to borrow some items:
Two pop-up tents (we are hoping that the Bakers will be able to provide these; if you can't, let me know as soon as possible, so I can try and chase somebody else).
As many camping chairs as we can get.
Anything else that is associated with camping, e.g. hiking boots, mallets, ground sheets, plastic plates, a Primus stove (don't worry, it won't be switched on) etc
And in addition, anything associated with sports. E.g. footballs, hockey sticks, tennis rackets, skateboards. And if you have any trophies or certificates associated with sports, then bring those as well. (Don't bring anything too precious). If you're wondering what sort of things I have in mind, I have found the swimming badges I gained while at school, so I will be bringing those, along with several swimsuits. I'll also bring the medal I received for completing the Big Issue sponsored walk.

There was also a hammock/beach images/clubbing images/juice bar room installation:

Welcome to Grace Island
Rest a while
Pour yourself a juice
As you let the drink refresh you, recall the places, people and environments that make you feel rejuvenated, relaxed or re-connected
What or who do you feel thankful for?
What do you want to ask God for?

Part of the church was set up as a camping area.

Tea, biscuits and Scrabble. Another kind of rest activity.
