December 2001: Alternativity

Grace 2001-02 flyer front

Child-friendly Christmas service with stations and lots of things to make.

Little information survives, except the following station.

The Vocation Station

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in thee town of David a saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the lord.
Luke Chapter 2

There probably aren’t many shepherds here tonight but we all have our work to do whether it is at school or college or in the home or in a job.

What would we do if an angel appeared at work?
What would we think or say?
How do we respond to good news?
Would we drop everything and rush to find out what was going on or would we be too concerned about that deadline?

Write what you would say to the angel on a strip of paper chain and add your message to the chain.

Collect the cotton wool for your picture.
